Biophilic Design: Space Narratives Inspired by Nature

Designing spaces that strengthen the human-nature connection through natural light, organic forms, and living materials. Integrating biophilic principles into urban residential projects.

Biophilic design is an architectural approach that transforms the biological bond humans have with nature (the biophilia hypothesis) into spatial narrative. Research shows that spaces surrounded by natural light, greenery, and organic forms have measurably positive effects on human psychology.

In REACTO's residential projects, biophilic principles are integrated at every scale of design. At the building scale, each residential unit is oriented so at least one facade faces green space. At the spatial scale, interior plant walls, natural material palettes (wood, travertine, linen), and glazed openings that maximize daylight are employed.

Natural light is the most critical component of biophilic design. Our daylight simulation algorithms calculate the amount of daylight each space will receive throughout the year, optimizing window sizes and orientations. The goal is to achieve a "golden hour" effect — natural light distribution that creates warmth and depth at every point in the space.
